Reunited THE ESOTERIC To Make Its Live Debut This Weekend
June 1, 2009Kansas City's post-hardcore/alt-metal/rock stalwarts THE ESOTERIC are reuniting for a series of performances in June in and around the KC area.
Consisting of Marshall Kilpatric (BLACK LIGHT BURNS, ex-TODAY IS THE DAY) on drums, Cory White (ex-COALESCE, REGGIE AND THE FULL EFFECT) on guitar, Stevie Cruz (HAMMERLORD) on vocals, Eric Graves (THETA) on guitar, and Anthony Diale (JUMBO'S KILLCRANE) on bass, THE ESOTERIC went on hiatus in 2006 immediately following the release of its sophomore effort, "Subverter" (Prosthetic Records). The group's members have since been in close contact with each other while pursuing other ventures, and felt they had never quite received the proper attention after releasing two albums for Prosthetic Records, several independent EPs, and playing hundreds of shows over the course of years of heavy, constant touring. Thus, the timing is right for them to return to the stage and deliver what was never finished for them and their fans.
THE ESOTERIC's first comeback show is set for June 6 at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City. The band will perform as part of the first annual American Waste festival alongside TESTAMENT, UNEARTH, COALESCE, and three dozen other heavy acts. The next show will be a headlining set on June 13 at the Riot Room in Kansas City, followed by a more intimate set at The Replay Lounge in Lawrence on June 18.
THE ESOTERIC plans on writing material for an as-yet-untitled new release, tentatively due in 2010.
